Pau Vila

 

Title Fons Pau Vila
Collection description Personal collection formed by manuscript texts, reports, press clippings, records and correspondence from the geographer and pedagogue Pau Vila i Dinarès (Sabadell 1881-Barcelona 1980).
Period 1882-1993
Data entry Integrated in the collection of maps and books from Josep M. Puchades donated by his family in 1983. In 2003, the Puchades Roura family gave to the Cartoteca more documents from Pau Vila that were stored on the familiar publishing house Montblanc-Martín.
Related collections From the same celebrity, are preserved in the general collection of the Cartoteca de Catalunya, books and maps included in the Josep M. Puchades collection, as well as a thousand photographs either personal and from landscapes.


Gonzalo de Reparaz
Title Fons Gonzalo de Reparaz Ruiz
Collection description Documentation relating to personal and professional activity of geographer Gonzalo de Reparaz Ruiz (Sèvres 1901 - Lima, 1984) consisting of identification documnets as well as academic, family, intellectual and scientist ones. It also contains documents relating to his father Gonzalo de Reparaz Rodríguez.
Period 1880-2003
Data entry In 2005 from the family address of his wife Ester de Reparaz and his daughter María del Carmen de Reparaz arrived both the collection and the personal library of the geographer formed by more than 3.000 volumes which are available in the Cartoteca.

Albert Serratosa i Palet

 

Title Fons Albert Serratosa i Palet 
Collection description Consists of handwritten notes, reports, reviews, press cuttings and conference documents made by Mr.Serratosa throughout his professional life as an engineer at Barcelona City Hall, the Metropolitan Corporation, the Department of Regional Policy of the Generalitat of Catalonia; as a consultant for various organizations; as a professor at the UPC and during the private practice of the profession.
Period 1942-2010
Data entry Mr. Albert Serratosa gave his documentary collection to the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya on February 18, 2010.

Leonor Ferrer Girabau
Title Fons Leonor Ferrer Girabau 
Collection description Personal and professional documents from draftswoman and teacher Leonor Ferrer Girabau (1874-1953) from Barcelona. Composed of drawings and maps made during her professional career at the Companyia Telefónica (phone company) and as a teacher in various institutions. It also contains correspondence and personal documents and a collection of printed maps of cities around the world.
Period 1890-1940
Data entry The funds arrived in december 2009 from their relatives, a political niece and grand nephews coming from Poble Sec, Barcelona.

Title Fons Històric del Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya 
Collections description Collection made up by the documentation of the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya since the late nineteenth century to 1939. The service, created in 1921, was concerned to recover and get together the legacy of the meteorological and climatological research existing in Catalonia until then. For this reason, a considerable part of the collection has its origins from other institutions predecessors or contemporary from the Servei Meteorològic. The main ones are the Xarxa Meteorològica de la Granja Escola Experimental d'Agricultura, the Observatori Català, the Observatori de les Escoles Pies de Sabadell, the Societat Astronòmica de Barcelona and the Fundació Concepció Rabell d'Estudis Nefològics. You will find meteorological data, administrative documents, correspondence and abundant graphic documentation.
Period 1885-1939
Data entry The service was requised and removed in 1939. Since that date, all these documents became part of the Instituto Nacional de Meteorología. In 1983 were given back to the Generalitat de Catalunya and were deposited in the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya. In 2000 a co-operation agreement was signed between the Departament de Medi Ambient, the Institut Cartogràfic de Catalunya and the Institut d'Estudis Catalans, to make a stock list, a task that ended in 2002. In 2006 Mr. Rafel Carreras Patxot and Mrs. Núria Delétra Carreras Patxot formalized the donation of the material that belonged to the Fundació Concepció Rabell and was integrated in the historical collection of the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya.

Collection description Document archives constituted by the private archive of the physical and meteorologist Eduard Fontserè (Barcelona 1870-1970). Includes manuscripts and printed texts, correspondence and diverse documentation related primarily with the meteorology in Catalonia.
Period 1900-1970
Data entry Donated to the Cartoteca de Catalunya in 1988 by his daughter Maria Fontserè, the Iglésias widow.

Cerdà's signature of the Eixample map
Title Fons Viladevall - Cerdà 
Collection description Documentation relating to Ildefons Cerdà i Sunyer (1815-1876), deposited in the attorney firm of Pere Viladevall successor of Manuel Oliu i Huguet who negotiated with the Ajuntament de Barcelona and the Ministerio de Fomento de Madrid the payment of the outstanding debts from both institutions to Cerdà.
Period 1848-1909
Data entry Collection donated in 2006 by the family Viladevall to the Cartoteca de Catalunya on the occasion of the demolition of the building where there was the old attorney office.
Related collections At first, this collection consisted of maps acquired by the Col·legi d'Enginyers de Camins, Canals i Ports de Catalunya who deposited them on the Ajuntament de Barcelona.
