Our website servers have been updated to expand contents and to improve services.

That means that URLs (web addresses) have change, so we recommen to access the ICC website by writing only www.icc.cat and updating your Bookmarks and RSS if necessary.

Calendar ICC 2010

Publication of the traditional ICC calendar 2010.

Every year, from 1987, the ICC publishes an ancient map from the Map Library of Catalonia. In this way it introduces, besides the massive broadcast made on the Internet, its historical cartography fund.

The calendar is for free and available in the Sales Center and also as a real size PDF (44,5 cm x 68,5 cm) on the products section in the ICC website.

The sheet chosen for this calendar 2010 shows the division in jurisdictions of Catalonia in a map of beginning of the 18th century, whose author is Alexis Hubert Jaillot.

ICA award to the ICC

"Les cartes portolanes. La representació medieval d'una mar solcada", by Ramon J. Pujades, has been awarded with the public vote of the 24th International Cartographic Conference.

This Conference, biannual and promoted by the International Cartographic Conference, was held from 15th to 21st November in Santiago de Chile.

So, the ICC products have been awarded for nine consecutive congresses. In fact, this is the eleventh award by the ICA. See all awards.

Updated Municipality Bases

Updated Municipality Bases now available on the ICC website.

These Bases are available on the Cartography section at 1:50 000, 1:250 000 and 1:1 000 000, and in DXF, DGN and SHP formats.

New Geofons server

Due to the large volume of data and to facilitate the search of files, a new folder structure has been defined for storing files from RINEX CatNet stations. In turn, there has been a change in file format to standardize data with the EUREF, that is to say, binary compression of the data moves from DOS format (YYe) to UNIX format (YYd.Z). The address of the new server is ftp://geofons.icc.cat.

Import geometries in VISSIR2

Importing geometry files like KML, GPX, CSV and TXT in the VISSIR2 is now possible. This allows displaying your points of interest, routes and polygons over the ICC cartography.

Aerial photos 1956-57

Aerial photos of Catalonia made by the Americans in 1956-57 are now available in ortoXpres.

Historical value of these photos, plus the possibility of compare them with current, is so important. Although photos are shown as a continuous image, because of aerotriangulation, geometric quality of this flight is not as good as current.

ICC Library

New catalogue of the ICC Library now available on the Map Library of Catalonia section.

In the Map Library of Catalonia you can find old and modern books related mainly to cartographic production, history of cartography and several monographs. It includes a newspaper library also related to these thematic areas.

Three particular funds especially rich in local content have been integrated into the library:

Biblioteca Josep M. Puchades (1913-1982) with a huge collection of books on hydrology and part of the library of geographer Pau Vila
Biblioteca Gonçal de Reparaz (1901-1982) with geograpahy and history books of Catalonia and Peru
Biblioteca Josep M. Domènech, an extensive collection of very important books on topics of geography and history of Catalonia, especially at local level
